The Fluff War

There is a fluff war going on in my house and I’m not sure if I’m winning.

I took a look at the old decrepit scale the husband always complains about and decided that we needed a new one of the digital, easy to read variety. I would be putting you on if I said that I wasn’t a little apprehensive about what number was going to appear…I knew the old one had been lying to me, I just didn’t know how deceitful it had been. I thought surely it couldn’t be more than a mere 3 or 4 pound difference…..yeah, right. What if I tell you that my shiny, new scale has informed me that my weight was underestimated by a whopping TEN pounds!

T-E-N!!!

Well shit.

It’s at moments like this when you’ve got to stop and ask yourself if the truth was really worth it. Is honestly really the best policy?

In the long run I suppose it is. You can’t get where you’re going unless you know where you’re coming from.

But...geez louise.

It's kinda like when you set your watch 10 m inutes fast because you're always late.....but worse.

That sucks - but ignore the scale and go by how you feel! If you feel sluggish and fluffy, exercise more and eat better. Don't go by the number on the scale.

I've also gained 10 pds! BLEH!!! I was pretty sure that breadsticks were the best way to beat back my grief... So not the best idea I've ever had. It'll come off when you're ready to work at it. At least that's what I keep telling myself...

there is like 12 pound discrepancy between the scale at work and the scale at my moms house. I am 12 pounds heavier at work than I am at my moms.

on top of that - the scale at work seems to vary in its decision on how much i weigh. one day it will be 10 pounds more, and the other it will be 10 pounds less...random. Im attributing it to clothes.

I, therefore, dont usually weigh myself at work. Unless ive been kickboxing all week - then its happy, and it doesnt make me cry.

Just ignore the scale. I try not to focus on the numbers but more about how I feel in my clothes. Scales always suck!!! XOXO

I try not to ask questions that I don't really want the answers to. The batteries died in my scale before turkey day. They have not been replaced

Scales are crap. Go by the feel of clothes. Don't identify with numbers and you'll be much more successful at getting to what you deem a healthy size!

I'm with Berly, I can always tell when I'm getting fluffy....like right now I can squeeze into ohhhh about 4 pairs of my pants. They tell me when I'm getting bigger.

Well you're married. The race is over. You can take off the uniform! It's only winter weight. It's added muscle because everyone knows muscle weighs more than fat. There you go. Need any more excuses?
