Gettin' There

Had to show off my week 2 attempt at couponing. Getting better! Still have to work on saving on food items so a friend is giving my sister and I tips on stores that are friendly to price matching and taking competitor coupons so maybe in the coming weeks I'll have that down.

In the mean time I'm saving on health and beauty items which we won't have to pay for on upcoming shopping trips for quite awhile. Wait til you see how I did this week!!You are looking at 3 packs of heating patches (for the hubby), 5 packs of razors, 5 packs of girlie liners and a 3 bar pack of soap which retail for $60.50. Guess how much I paid. Go on...guess!

N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!

I got them all FREE!

For $60.50 worth of stuff...I paid a measley .70 cents in sales tax! :) Woohoo!

that's insane! I am jealous. those are THE best razors- the only ones I use but I definitely pay wayyy more than .70 for them!

whatever! I bet you paid a large sum of money buying other stuff you didnt need. something like buy 50 rolls of toilet paper and get a pack of gum free!

yeah?

Nope Yrautca. I SWEAR!! That was my decision when I started on this couponing adventure. I would not buy a bunch of shit that I didn't need b/c it defeats the purpose of trying to save money.

Now....if I can get a bunch of shit I don't need for FREE...then yes, I do get it b/c I pass those on to family and friends that do have uses for them.

I'm a dogooder and it's eating you up isn't it??! :)

Let me break it down for you Mr. Nonbeliever.
The BIC razors retail for $6 each at Publix. Publix was having a B1G1 free sale last week and I had several $3 off coupons. Since I was buying 2 packs (even though store was only charging for one) I was able to use 2 of my coupons and the money came off the one I was being charged for. $3 off coupon x 2 = FREE
Noxema razors (normally $4.99) were on sale for $2. I had a $2 off coupon = FREE
The heating patches are normally $8.99 at Rite Aid but they had them on sale for $5. I also had coupons for $5 off those heating pads from this Sunday’s paper. So apply the $5 coupon to the $5 sale price = FREE
Soap (normally $2.50) was on sale for $.99. I had a $1.00 off coupon = FREE
Girlie liners (normally $1.10 each) on sale for $.99, I had several $1.00 off coupons = FREE
See…you just have to watch the sales ads and clip coupons!
